About Erin
Meet Erin
As an educator, Erin’s uses arts-based programming to empower her students. Using a variety of performance-based tools, Erin regularly teaches character building and movement based workshops, with a special focus in using Viewpoints and Laban technique to develop young actors’ skillsets. In the classroom Erin weaves multicultural, social emotional, and differentiated instruction into her lessons, with the goal of building empathy and community among her students. Her professional experience includes work with at-risk and urban youth, students and adults with disabilities, and inclusion classrooms.
While Erin works as an actor in a variety of styles, she is particularly drawn to devised pieces and new works. When working on a character she seeks their humanity through a process of play, movement work, and improvisations. Her favorite roles have been characters written with the incredible dichotomy of holding immense joy and pain at the same time.
She is the Founding Director of Platforms Company, a theatre-based education company that serves youth in Greater Boston. Platforms additionally offers resources for professional development ranging from arts-integrated academic curricula to training workshops and teaching artist residencies.
