The classroom is a sacred space. Learning can only happen when all students feel welcome, safe and valued. As an educator, Erin strives to connect with each student, and create an environment where students can collaborate and learn from each other.

Arts-Integration

Every child experiences the world differently and has their own unique educational needs. As a teacher, Erin uses arts-integration strategies to ensure that her students utilize their own interests and talents to deepen their learning and understanding. Weaving fine and performing arts into academic lessons enriches the learning experience and better serves the diverse learners in the classroom.

Social-Emotional Learning

Erin creates robust and challenging curriculum that supports learning as well as students’ personal growth and development. Erin’s curriculum offers students opportunities to employ creative problem solving strategies, build resilience, collaborate, and develop leadership skills.

K-1 students explore emotions using visual arts, tableaux, and dance
In this STEAM unit, Students learn about the rainforest with activities including movement and tableaux
K-2 students learn storytelling skills, acting, and puppetry with Anansi and Moss Covered Rock.
Students prepare for a parade with designing unique paper lanterns that represent their cultural identities.
Middle school students learn about Noh Theatre and design their own character masks.
HOPE participants build confidence through imaginative play, costume and prop work.
Middle school students using improvisation and movement to create scenes based on their lives.
