Arts for Identity: Using the Arts to Foster Social Emotional Learning in the Classroom

This workshop offers hands-on, arts-based activities designed to foster community, build safe spaces, and strengthen students’ sense of identity. Arts for Identity can be offered as a 90 minute workshop, or expanded into three 60 minute workshops.

Introduction to Lesson Planning

This workshop is designed for youth workers and teaching artists that are new to the field. It explores the components of a lesson plan and teaches strategies to make lesson plans more successful in the classroom. Introduction to Lesson Planning is offered as a 60 minute, interactive workshop.

Punching the Air: Teaching Themes with Theatre

This workshop is a deep dive into Punching the Air, a young adult novel that uses poetry and visual arts to explore themes of racial injustice, systemic racism, and the impact of the prison system on young Black lives. This workshop utilizes theatre, creative writing, and visual arts activities and is intended for 7-12 grade students. Punching the Air: Teaching Themes with Theatre is designed as an 8-10 session series.
